Bills surprisingly find a great playmaker for Josh Allen in recent NFL mock draft

No one would be mad at this.

The Buffalo Bills don’t have a ton of needs on offense that they need to address on their offense. After last year’s surprising season, the Bills showed that as long as they have Josh Allen under center, they will be just fine. Sure, adding a weapon here and there is never a problem. For now though, it’s not a big need.

Instead, the Bills should be focusing on defense. Whether they go after secondary or defensive line help, anything is better than nothing. Buffalo is just a few pieces on defense away from possibly being the team that comes out of the AFC for the Super Bowl. The Bills went heavy on defense in free agency, getting guys like Joey Bosa, Larry Ogunjobi, and Michael Hoecht.

They still need to address the cornerback position and adding depth on the defensive line isn’t a bad option either. However, what if the Bills went offense in the first round with another wide receiver? Well, that’s what Ryan Wilson from CBS Sports has the Bills doing in a recent mock draft. Wilson’s mock draft has the Bills staying put at No. 30 and selecting Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III.

"The numbers don't blow you away (66 catches, 771 yards) but don't be fooled; Burden is a first-round talent and game-changer with the ball in his hands. The QB play at Mizzou was inconsistent in 2024 because Brady Cook was injured for much of the season, but there's a reason he had 86 receptions for 1,212 yards and nine TDs in 2023."

Luther Burden III to Bills would be a major steal for Buffalo

Even though the Bills need help on defense, passing up on a guy like Burden late in the first round would be quite the decision to make. He is fantastic when he has the ball in his hands, being able to make defenders miss and he can easily pick up an extra 5-10 yards, if not more. Even though his 2024 season wasn’t exactly the best, his 2023 season was phenomenal with over 1,200 yards.

I would be very shocked if the Bills went on the clock at No. 30 and Burden was still available. Brandon Beane would have to have a phenomenal reason of why he would pass on Burden when he could be a solid weapon for Josh Allen for the next four years (not to mention potentially a fifth-year option as well).
