The 2026 season is close, yet far away. Mandatory minicamp finished up for the Buffalo Bills and up next is training camp. Before you know it, the Bills will be taking the field and will be tasked to defeat some of the best teams that have some of the best players in the league.
However, not everyone is at that star status that players want to be at. Some are consistently good, some are more up-and-down, and some just simply don’t have the overall talent to reach that star level. Then there are some players who go into a season looking to bounce back from a rough year that they had in the prior season.
Whether it was because of a down year of production or dealing with an injury, every season features players who will look to bounce back and show the NFL that they are still one of the best. Gary Davenport from Bleacher Report listed eight players who could become the league’s biggest comeback players for the 2026 season, and two of them will go up against the Bills in 2026.
2 comeback candidates set to go up against Bills in 2026
The first player that Davenport listed was Minnesota Vikings’ quarterback Kyler Murray, who signed with the Vikings on a cheap one-year deal. Murray spent his entire career with the Arizona Cardinals, but injuries and consistency issues played a role in the Cardinals releasing him. He now lands with Kevin O’Connell who is one of the best quarterback coaches in the league.
Not to mention, he also gets the best wide receiver in the game in Justin Jefferson so that’s always a bonus. Murray landing with the Vikings was the best option for him as it gives him the chance to cash in for a team next year that is willing to pay for a potential franchise quarterback.
The second player that Davenport listed was Green Bay Packers’ tight end Tucker Kraft, who tore his ACL in the middle of the season last year. With the Packers not having to play the Bills until later in the season, Kraft should be ready to go up against Buffalo and he was playing like the best tight end in football before the season-ending knee injury.
Kraft is entering his prime and if he can pick up where he left off before the injury, you could make the case that he can become the best tight end in the game.
The Bills will have their hands full this upcoming season, and they will face players who have something to prove. They have to be prepared and not get on the wrong side of a highlight reel for these players.
