Buffalo Bills’ general manager Brandon Beane is always actively looking for ways to improve the roster. Whether it’s through free agency or the draft, you can expect Buffalo to be in the mix for teams to be on the lookout for any star player that isn’t a quarterback. Well, Buffalo is once again linked to a certain star wide receiver out in the Pacific Northwest.
According to reporter Corbin K. Smith, both the Bills and Chiefs are “monitoring the DK Metcalf situation” as there have been rumors about Metcalf and whether or not he will be in Seattle much longer. Seeing both Buffalo and Kansas City keeping their eyes on this situation is no surprise.
Two other teams that I’ve been told are monitoring DK Metcalf situation are Bills and Chiefs.

Right now, consensus is #Seahawks aren’t looking to make a deal and still would like to extend star receiver. But several teams are keeping tabs in case door opens to acquire him.
The Chiefs and Bills are the two top teams in the AFC and they are always looking for ways to improve their roster. If the Seahawks were to ever entertain a trade that involves sending Metcalf out of the Pacific Northwest, it would make sense for them to trade him to an AFC team.
DK Metcalf is a great player, but not a huge need for Bills
For someone who has never had less than 900 receiving yards per season in his career, it’s tough to say that the Bills don’t need Metcalf but it’s the truth. Last season was the perfect example that the Bills don’t necessarily need a true number-one receiver. Yes, they traded for Amari Cooper midseason but he was never a huge contributor to be considered a go-to guy.
The Bills had the chance to draft Metcalf twice in 2019. Instead, they went with defensive tackle Ed Oliver and offensive tackle Cody Ford. Looking back now on those draft decisions, it’s safe to say that the Bills maybe should have taken a chance on Metcalf, especially given the fact that Ford is no longer in Buffalo.
Again, this is just a simple report and it doesn’t mean anything right now. However, it’s important to keep an eye on it because something small can easily become a major thing as time goes on.
With Smith reporting that the Bills are one of the teams that are keeping an eye on this situation, it shows that Brandon Beane is doing whatever he can to look for different ways to elevate this roster. Getting Metcalf would be a huge boost for the Bills, but they should be more prioritized on adding defensive help, especially on the defensive line.
