You could make the argument that this season has not been the strongest one the Buffalo Bills have had. They have been dealing with many injuries on both sides of the ball and there are handful of times where the Bills didn't play at their best level. Despite those factors, the team is still 8-4 and are in the playoff race going into December.
The Bills have some tough opponents coming up this month. They host the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday, and then they will take on the Patriots, Browns, Eagles, and then the Jets in January to close out the regular season. It's not exactly the easiest schedule, but the Bills can win these games if they play smart football.
It is completely understandable for fans to be nervous because if one thing slips up for the Bills, it could cost them a playoff spot. They've only not made the playoffs once since Sean McDermott's arrival and not seeing Josh Allen in the playoffs would be unreal.
Bills' December history favors them to go on a run
According to Dan Fetes, the Bills have an 18-3 record in the month of December since 2020, and they have won 12 of their last 13 December matchups. With the Bills being "consistently inconsistent" as Fetes put it, they will need the December magic they have had come up once again in this stretch.

Two December losses came in 2021 to the Patriots (Week 13, 14-10) and the Buccaneers (Week 14, 33-27 in OT). The third loss came last season against the Rams (Week 14, 44-42). All three of these losses were one-score games, which shows that it can come down to one play that is the difference maker.
We'll see if this magic can continue to run its course for the Bills because with the AFC being extremely wide open, the Bills are going to need to focus on themselves just to get a playoff spot. It's more than likely that they won't repeat as AFC East champs this season, and they have losses that can affect their strength of schedule tiebreakers with other teams.
December is when the real season starts because there is very little to no room for error for any team that is looking to play football in the postseason.
