Even after the Buffalo Bills dominated their way to a 40-9 win over the Carolina Panthers last Sunday, one of the biggest takeaways for the team was the bicep injury that occurred with Ed Oliver. The Bills are now without Oliver for the foreseeable future as he was placed on IR with a bicep injury.

Buffalo has Larry Ogunjobi who can potentially help fill the gap with Oliver’s absence, but someone like Deone Walker will still have to step up as well. Now, the Bills are facing even more injury news regarding another defensive starter in the secondary. Taylor Rapp suffered a knee injury not too long ago and he was placed on IR.

However, the Bills may not have Rapp back in the lineup for the rest of the season. According to Lance Lysowski, per Sean McDermott, the belief is that Rapp may not be ready to play until next season. Specifically, Lysowski said that Rapp “may be done for the year. Underwent surgery this week on his knee injury.

In addition, per Lysowski, McDermott stated “At this point, it’s probably not until next year.”

Bills' defense continues to be hit with injuries after Taylor Rapp news

The Bills just can’t seem to catch a break with injuries. On both sides of the ball, they have been hit badly. DaQuan Jones, Joshua Palmer, and Shaq Thompson are reportedly already out for this week’s game. Now, they have long-term injuries on the defense with Oliver and Rapp.

It makes you wonder if Brandon Beane may feel that he has to trade for help on defense now, rather than potentially going to get a play-making wideout for Josh Allen. This defense, which has already been Buffalo’s biggest weakness, continues to be set up for failure as the season goes on.

Let’s hope that Beane can find a way to build it up a tad bit before the trade deadline because if he doesn’t, Bills Mafia is going to be very angry.
