In this decade, the Buffalo Bills have established themselves as one of the powerhouse teams that are on the door step of not just making the Super Bowl, but also winning one as well. Having a quarterback like Josh Allen has the Bills in a prime position to being in a championship window as long as he is playing at a high level.

The Bills made the move to trade for D.J. Moore to improve their wide room to help Allen and the Bills’ offense, which is a great first move to start for their roster revamp. However, they aren’t the only team that is making improvements ahead of free agency.

Being in the AFC, the Bills have extremely tough competition to go up against and one of their conference rivals just got stronger. According to Adam Schefter, the Baltimore Ravens are trading for Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby and will add him to their defense. The Raiders will receive two first-round picks from Baltimore.

Ravens adding Maxx Crosby just made Bills' AFC path harder

Sure, two first-round picks is a heavy price to pay but Crosby is one of the best players in the entire league. In five out of seven seasons, Crosby has recorded 10+ sacks and he is a phenomenal run-stopper at the line of scrimmage. Him going to Baltimore just improved the defense for the Ravens, who are now under the control of new head coach Jesse Minter.

Minter is a great defensive coach who was destined to get a head coaching job, which he now has in Baltimore and now he will get to coach Crosby.

The Bills already had a tough path in the AFC when you think about teams like the Ravens, Chiefs, Broncos, Patriots, Jaguars, and Chargers. While Crosby was in the AFC, he was with the Raiders who were consistently losing and were never a threat. Now, an AFC powerhouse is adding Crosby which just made Buffalo’s path more difficult.

The Bills will host the Ravens in 2026 so now Joe Brady will have to gameplan for Crosby coming off the edge. For as solid as Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown are on the outside, Crosby is in a different league of his own.

The Bills are facing a good amount of pressure to succeed immediately since they let go of Sean McDermott, and now it just got even higher as they will have to worry about Crosby in not just the regular season but possibly the playoffs as well.
