Through five games, the secondary for the Buffalo Bills has been a bit of a liability and now they could be taking a huge hit after a recent injury from Sean McDermott. After a Sunday night loss against the New England Patriots, McDermott met with the media on Monday and briefly talked about some of the injury updates, including Dorian Strong.
Prior to Week 5, the Bills had ruled out rookie cornerback Dorian Strong due to a neck injury after the 6th-round rookie was having a pretty solid start to the season. With the Bills have to deal with injuries to players like Maxwell Hairston and Tre’Davious White, this opened up the door for Strong to take advantage of the opportunity.
Strong has earned some strong recognition this season but now, there is a solid chance that the Bills could lose Strong for quite sometime this season, if not the entire season.
Latest injury update puts Bills in tough decision with secondary
According to Joe Buscaglia, McDermott said that Strong will “see a specialist for his neck injury” and that “nothing can be ruled out at this point, including shutting Strong down for the year.”
Bills HC Sean McDermott said rookie CB Dorian Strong will see a specialist for his neck injury. McDermott said nothing can be ruled out at this point, including shutting Strong down for the year, but added it's still early. Strong was placed on IR Saturday.

Strong was off to a great start and he was making the most of his opportunity due to the Bills dealing with injuries. However, while Hairston should be coming back soon, losing Strong not only hurts the depth but now there is a chance that the Bills lose some experience for the remainder of the season.
While it is still too early to know if Strong will be ruled out, him already being put on the IR is causing him to miss a month but now we are looking at the possibility of him missing the rest of the season.
It will be extremely important to know whether or not Strong has a chance to return this season, or if his promising rookie start will come to an abrupt end before we get into the crucial part of the season.
