As a team going on the road for the playoffs, the Buffalo Bills are going to need all the help that they can have if they want to go on a run for the Super Bowl. Just like any other team, they are dealing with all kinds of injuries but they are getting healthier by the day.
As the team prepares to head down to Jacksonville, Buffalo will be looking to see who will be joining them and who will have to sit out. The Bills’ PR team released the team’s Thursday injury report and there are two things that stick out for the better that fans should be aware of.
While some players still have yet to practice this week, two players were a full participant for the Bills; kicker Matt Prater and linebacker Matt Milano. Prater hurt his quad in Week 18 against the Jets and Milano was dealing with a reported illness.
Bills set up to have key contributors in Wild Card game vs. Jaguars
The Bills need both Prater and Milano for Sunday. They both contribute in different ways that can really help Buffalo leave Duval County with the win. Sure, Prater has had some missed kicks but for the most part, he has been great this season for Buffalo. In the two games he missed a few weeks ago, Michael Badgley was the replacement kicker and it did not go so well.
This past week, the Bills signed Matthew Wright to the practice squad just in case Prater isn’t ready to go.
As far as Milano, Buffalo’s defense cannot afford to lose one of their top defenders who can stop the run and play coverage against tight ends.
Say what you want about Milano’s durability, the defense is better when he is on the field. It seems like he is feeling better and barring any big time setbacks, he should be on the field for the Bills this Sunday. Friday’s injury report will really tell us how the Bills could look going into Sunday.
