The final injury reports for both the Buffalo Bills and Los Angeles Rams are out, and while the Bills have some statuses up in the air, the Rams officially have one of their stars ready to go for primetime on Monday night.
Rams head coach Sean McVay told reporters on Saturday that Aaron Donald, who was out last week with a back injury, is ready to go on Monday night and he will be suiting up against the Bills. While the Bills don't have to worry about Myles Garrett (who is still on the IR), they will now have to deal with Donald who can be a game-wrecker himself.
Aaron Donald will be active for Rams on MNF (and Bills' OL could be in trouble)
Donald has only played in two games this season and while he only has 4 total tackles, he is the kind of player you have to gameplan for. He is a future Hall of Famer and he can disrupt an offense's gameplan, forcing them to change things up when they weren't expecting to.
Buffalo's offensive line has been solid in the running game with opening up lanes for James Cook. Their pass protection in the first two weeks against the Texans and Lions was nearly perfect, but they have dropped in production the last two games against the Chargers and Patriots.
Now with Donald back in the lineup for the Rams, Buffalo's offensive line's test just got even tougher.
Bills must win trenches battle (even though it's an uphill battle)
The stats may not show it for the Rams' defense, but they can bring the pressure. Whether it's Donald, Byron Young, Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, etc. The offensive line for the Bills were already in for a tough challenge even if Donald wasn't ready to go. However, he is. and that should put some scare into the Bills.
Now granted, Donald has only played two games and he hasn't come back as that game-wrecker he once was before his first retirement. At the same time, he can't be ignored and we have seen him overpower a double block and still make a play.
Whether he lines up either over Connor McGovern, or one of the two guards in Alec Anderson or O'Cyrus Torrence, he will be looking to take over the game and pressure Josh Allen.
Joe Brady is going to have to figure out how to gameplan away from Donald and get rid of the ball fast before Donald has time to disrupt their gameplan. Monday night just got a whole lot more interesting and fans can't wait for it.
