Buffalo Bills fans are hoping that 2025 will finally be the year that Josh Allen and the Bills are the ones that are raising the Lombardi Trophy in February. Last season should have been the one, but we won’t get into that as the main focus is on Week 1.
Sunday Night Football in Week 1 is going to be electric in Orchard Park as the Ravens come to town. Seeing a rematch from last year’s divisional playoff round, there is no better Week 1 matchup than Josh Allen vs. Lamar Jackson. While it should be an exciting matchup, there is a possibility that it could ultimately become a recult of last year’s Week 4 matchup where the Ravens absolutely gave the Bills a beatdown.
That got me thinking about the potential nightmare scenarios that the Bills could face this coming season, and it could very well start in fron of Bills Mafia on primetime.
4 nightmare scenarios for Buffalo Bills in 2025
4.) Ravens get revenge vs. Bills in dominating fashion in Week 1
We saw the Ravens completely run over the Bills in Week 4 last season, giving up 271 yards on the ground. Then in the playoffs, the Ravens still rushed for 176 yards but the Bills managed to hang on for a close win to send them home. However, Lamar Jackson has already talked how he and his team are thinking about “vengence” when it comes to their Week 1 matchup against Buffalo, per Jamison Hensley.
With the build up of this powerful Week 1 matchup, the last thing we need to see is the Bills getting dominated by Baltimore to open up the season.
3.) Bills lose yet another thrilling game to an NFC team
For the past five seasons, the Bills have faced off against an NFC team and have lost each matchup in a thriller, whether it was in overtime at at the end of regulation. It started out with the Cardinal converting the “Hail Murray” pass where DeAndre Hopkins caught it over three defenders. Then last season, it was the Bills putting up 42 points and Josh Allen putting up six total touchdowns but the Rams still won 44-42.
The Bills are facing the NFC South, as well as the Philadelphia Eagles this season. It’s time to put this recurring nightmare behind them of losing a matchup that is a candidate for “game of the year.”
2.) Bills lose to all top contenders in regular season
Even though the Bills have a fantastic schedule, they still have tough opponents on their schedule. Some of the teams that they will face include the Ravens, Chiefs, Bengals, Eagles, and Buccaneers. All of those teams are set up to go on a Super Bowl run (assuming that the Bengals’ defense can make a stop for once).
In order to be the best, you have to beat the best. These five opponents for the Bills are some of the best in the league.
1.) Chiefs once again eliminate Bills from the playoffs
I mean, do I really need to say anything else about this scenario? It’s literally the biggest nightmare for the Bills and their fanbase. Four of the past five offseasons, the Bills have been sent home early by Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. Sean McDermott has been heavily criticized about it, seeing as how his defense has been the reason why the Bills haven’t been able to get over the hump.
