The overall energy in Buffalo is not the greatest after Thursday night when the Bills lost a close, yet not so close game against the Houston Texans. While Buffalo lost by just four points, the offense made it nearly impossible for them to have any shot at winning.
Outside of James Cook’s opening drive touchdown run, Buffalo’s offense was completely disorganized and Josh Allen took a beating with getting sacked 8 times and getting hit 12 total times. Overall, this was a forgetful performance by the offense and they will need to tighten up a lot of loose screws before their Week 13 game against Pittsburgh.
Since the Bills played on Thursday night, they got a little bit of rest and extra time to prepare for the Steelers. They don’t need to worry about their performance today, and they can just enjoy their Sunday and watch some games.
With November coming to an end here soon, the playoff push is starting to become very serious. The Bills are in a position where they no longer control their own destiny. While they don’t need all the help in the world to make the playoffs, they aren’t as close to it as fans had hoped for.
Bills fans need to hope Week 12 predictions come true
Garrett Podell from CBS Sports put together some bold predictions for some of this week’s matchups, including two games that Bills fans should be paying attention.
The first prediction was that Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs lose against the Indianapolis Colts, which would give Mahomes his first ever three-game regular season losing streak. While the Bills do have the tiebreakers on the Chiefs, the Chiefs are only 2 games behind the Bills at 5-5.
If the Colts are able to knock the Chiefs off today, it will pretty much send Kansas City away with an unbelievable hard path to make the playoffs. While the Colts are currently the third seed in the AFC and the Bills would like to get one of those top spots, Buffalo has to catch New England in the division and that seems highly unlikely at this point.
The second prediction that Podell projected was between the New York Jets and Baltimore Ravens, in which Podell is predicting that the Jets have multiple takeaways from the Ravens. Now granted, we have seen teams lost the turnover battle and still win, but it’s very difficult.
While the Ravens have caught lightening since Lamar Jackson’s return, they still have a lot of work to do to catch true momentum for a playoff run. Much like against Kansas City, the Bills also hold the tiebreaker over the Ravens, who are at 5-5 as well.
While it’s tough to root for an in-division opponent, Bills fans need the Jets to pull an upset against the Ravens to keep Baltimore away from jumping over Buffalo in the AFC standings as December approaches.
