With NFL free agency slowing way down, the Buffalo Bills and wide receiver DJ Moore stepped up and worked out an agreement on his contract to open up some well-desired cap space.
The team still has many positions to fill. They are now roughly $9 million under the cap, as per Over The Cap. This additional money could help address some of their needs without mortgaging their future.
While free agency has slowed, there are still many talented, skilled players out there ready to be signed. Let's take a look at three players whom the Bills should pursue.
3 notable players the Bills should scout
1. S Kyle Duggar
Since the Bills have already signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson and Geno Stone to one-year prove-it deals, it wouldn't hurt adding a third veteran to the party.
The 6-foot-1, 220-pound thumper began his career with the New England Patriots from 2020 to 2025. He recorded a career-high 109 tackles and 1.5 sacks in all 17 games he started in 2023, highlighting his value to the team.
In 2025, the Patriots traded Duggar along with a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Pittsburgh Steelers for a 2026 sixth-round pick in what would be Mike Tomlin's final year as their head coach.
The talented athlete made an immediate impact while playing in the Steelers' coveted 3-4 scheme, tallying 59 tackles, two interceptions, one defensive 73-yard pick that went for a touchdown, one sack, and five passes batted down.
Duggar, along with the entire Steelers coaching staff, left in 2025, and now with Joe Brady and the Bills running a 3-4 defense with Jim Leonhard, this would be the ideal time to grab him.
2. DE Haason Reddick
If anyone in this modern-day NFL displays old-school toughness and plays with meanness, this is the player you want. He developed into a punishing linebacker and was drafted in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals.
While with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2022, Reddick recorded a career-high 16.0 sacks and was a major reason the team nearly lost to the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl 57.
Reddick would bring immediate toughness to the linebacker position and make the other linebackers around him better, especially if they decide to add a young rookie to the corps in the draft.
3. DT D.J. Reader
Forget the scheme and the coach for a minute, and realize D.J. Reader is a man's man. He can stop the run and get to the quarterback effectively. But off the field, his fans know he is worth rooting for and that he is genuine and relatable.
Even in 2025, the older vet still plays like the beast he was when he entered the league in 2016. Despite his reputation as a top edge-rush defender, he managed a career-high three sacks in his debut season with the Detroit Lions in 2024.
Adding him to the Bills would give them that big run stuffer that they have lacked for the last two seasons under former head coach Sean McDermott. He would also be a big help in the 3-4, playing nose, and could help Deone Walker along the way.
Even with Brady being the head coach now, this is a player whom even McDermott would have signed for his strong character and on-field play.
