The Buffalo Bills have managed to come out on the better end of the injury report the last couple of weeks. Compared to the beginning of the season, the Bills are in a much better spot injury-wise than they were going into Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. They have gained more than they lost and heading into a tough game against Baltimore, the Bills are at their best as possible.

On Wednesday’s injury report, everyone on the list except two were a full participant. The only two players that were limited were running back Ray Davis and offensive lineman Alec Anderson.

In last week’s win against the Denver Broncos, Davis was hit hard in the head after Josh Allen overthrew a pass which led to safety Brandon Jones hitting Davis in the head. Luckily Davis was able to walk out on his own but he was ruled out and is in concussion protocol. The fact that he was a limited participant is a good sign for him in his recovery.

As for Anderson, he suffered a calf injury on a routine pull-block and limped off the field last Sunday. Anderson has been the extra lineman for the Bills in their rushing attack and he is more valuable than fans think. Much like Spencer Brown, Anderson is usually always the first one to defend his teammates and do the dirty work in order to allow others to shine. He has played a huge role for this offensive line that has only Josh Allen to be sacked 16 times this season.

Not having Alec Anderson vs. Ravens would hurt the Bills’ offense

First off, he is a perfect swing tackle for this Bills’ offense. With the way the Bills operate their offense, having Anderson help out at the line of scrimmage is a huge help, especially against a team like Baltimore. The Ravens’ defensive line is ferocious and can be disruptive. Anderson is able to take on edge rushers and defensive tackles one-on-one.

Without his services there, the Bills’ offensive game plan becomes more complicated. The Bills need to very much hope that Anderson is ready to go for this Sunday night because they are going to need him.
