The 2026 season for the Buffalo Bills is the start of something new for fans and while there should always be some kind of concern, the excitement is real because of the new era under Joe Brady. One thing that they are up against, though, is a tough schedule despite them playing a second play schedule since they lost the AFC East to the New England Patriots last season.

Some of the notable opponents that Buffalo will face include the entire NFC North (Detroit, Green Bay, Minnesota, and Chicago), Houston, the LA Rams, Chiefs, Ravens, and Broncos. It’s an extremely tough schedule for sure. At the same time, they do have some opponents that they should easily win.

That's the key word, should, because we know that no win is ever guarenteed in the NFL. Trap games happen all the time and the last thing that the Bills need is to lose a trap game that they should take care of with no problem.

3 Bills opponents destined to have bad 2026 seasons

Lou Scataglia from NFL Spin Zone recently listed 5 teams who are “guarenteed” to finish the 2026 season with a losing record, with three of them being on the Bills’ schedule. The teams are the Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Las Vegas Raiders.

With two of these teams being right in the AFC East, the Bills could easily have four wins on their record. The Dolphins have bought into a rebuild as they parted ways with a lot of their top players from the last couple of years, including Bradley Chubb who is now a member of the Bills.

The Jets are coming off yet another horrendous season and despite them having a strong draft, it won’t be enough for them to be truly competitive. Aaron Glenn faces a ton of pressure going into this season and the quarterback situation isn’t great either, even with trading for Geno Smith.

As for the Raiders, I wouldn’t count them out of being competitive, but they are starting with a new regime under Klint Kubiak. While the Raiders could eventually get things clicking as the season goes on, the Bills will be playing them in Week 6 and who knows how good they will be in the beginning of the season.

These are the kinds of games where you would think Buffalo would take care of business with no issue. That’s not the case though, as we have seen the Bills play in close games even though they shouldn’t have. Buffalo’s schedule is not easy at all, so they need to capitalize on their matchups that should have no business making life hard for them.
