The Buffalo Bills have been trying so hard to figure out what they need to do in order to get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl. During the regular season, they are one of the most dominating teams in the league. When it comes to the playoffs, they tend to have atleast one solid win but then it always ends in some kind of heartbreak.
Having a quarterback like Josh Allen, who is a generational quarterback, and not even reaching the Super Bowl is absolutely ridiculous. With the Bills dropping yet another playoff game despite scoring 30 points, it was time for a change and the Bills ended up showing Sean McDermott the door. Now, Joe Brady is running the show and he has a lot of continuity with Allen.
Allen has been a main focal point for the Bills, to the point where he participated in the head coaching search in January and Brady has said that every decision that has or will be made, Allen will be kept in mind.
Now, one player shouldn’t decide every single thing that is done within the organization. Then again, Allen is the face of the franchise for the Bills and he is the main reason why the Bills are who they are today. With that, the Bills do have one major question that they have to answer going into the NFL Draft later this month that was listed by Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report.
Gagnon's question for the Bills is: "What does Josh Allen need the most?"
"It's all about supporting the franchise quarterback in their quest to finally get over the top. The question is, where should they focus at the top of the draft? Do they target an inside linebacker or DB to spruce up the defense? A guard to replace David Edwards? Another receiver for Allen to rely on? There are a lot of potential avenues here, both in the draft and in the lingering waves of free agency. " said Gagnon.
Bills must decide what they need to make sure Josh Allen takes next step forward
Whether it’s adding to the wide receiver room despite trading for D.J. Moore, or vastly improving the defense so that Allen doesn’t have to always carry the team to victory, the organization has to not just figure out what Allen needs but also get the job done.
Even though Allen has demonstrated that he can overcome difficult odds and lead the Bills to a huge win, the team can’t rely on Allen to do it all the time. That’s where risks can come in, including possible injury. It's a new era in Buffalo and now is the time to truly go all in because Allen is not getting any younger.
