The Buffalo Bills have been one of the unluckiest teams in NFL history. From losing four consecutive Super Bowls, going through a 17-season playoff drought, and still not having reached a Super Bowl despite having the best quarterback in the game, the Bills can’t seem to catch a break.

For nearly two decades, the Bills had to look up at the Patriots in the division. Then once Tom Brady left in 2020, the AFC East was going in Buffalo’s favor. The time was now for the Bills to finally become a true contender. They had a rising superstar quarterback in Josh Allen, and had given him a No. 1 wideout in Stefon Diggs, and that duo was one of the best for a couple of seasons.

However, the Bills found themselves with another obstacle to overcome and that was the Kansas City Chiefs who have been the big brothers to the Bills. Four out of the last five playoffs, the Chiefs have broken the hearts of the Bills and their fans. Well, there is a world where the Chiefs won’t be in the playoffs now.

I mean, the Chiefs have been the ones that have crushed Buffalo's dreams season after season. So, you would think it's an open road now for Buffalo. However, that is no longer the case as the Bills are heading towards revisiting their first big nightmare.

Bills' listed worst nightmare makes Bills fans go through misery once again

Brad Gagnon from Bleacher Report put together a list of each team’s worst nightmare right now, and his reasoning for Buffalo’s is spot on. Ultimately, Gagnon’s nightmare for Buffalo is seeing the Patriots potentially taking the AFC East back and forcing Buffalo to have to get to the Super Bowl on the road.

"Just when the Chiefs finally stop looking like the roadblock they've been, the Bills watch the Patriots reclaim the AFC East throne—and once again see their Super Bowl hopes derailed, this time by a road-heavy playoff path."

Kansas City won’t be winning their division this season, and are on the cusp of not making the playoffs. However, Buffalo will now have to potentially see the Patriots start their brand new run with a talented quarterback on a rookie deal and a head coach that is very well respected by his team and by people across the league.

It just seems that no matter what happens that helps Buffalo, there is always one major obstacle that they have overcome. I get it, that’s the way the NFL works but the Bills really can’t catch any kind of break at all.
