The Buffalo Bills started out their draft journey on a great note by acquiring cornerback Max Hairston from Kentucky. Not only does this address a pressing need for the Bills, but Buffalo is getting a player who impressed at the combine and has major speed to bring to the defense.
The Bills stood their ground at No. 30 and didn’t move up or down. It’s the complete opposite of what they did last year by trading back twice and out of the first round. Buffalo got a player that they firmly believe in and Hairston is a great choice at the end of the first round.
Hairston had to wait a long time to hear his name be called, but ending up in Buffalo is going to be great for his career long-term as he joins a championship contender that runs the AFC East. Not to mention, he also doesn’t have to worry about Josh Allen throwing against him in a game.
One thing that was overlooked about Hairston’s journey during the first round was his support he gave to his fellow classmates as they heard their names being called. Right from the beginning, Hairston was showing supporting to his classmates by hugging them and congratulating them.
In addition, Hairston also showed his enthusiasm right away to come to Buffalo and he gave a huge shoutout to his family. With his first couple of moments with the Bills, he’s already caught the attention of one Bills legend.
Bills legend Andre Reed approves of Max Hairston draft pick
WELCOME @MHairston22 you hyped , dressed fresh 💧& SHOUTED OUT your family … perfect for the #BillsMafia LFG #NFLDraft2025
— Andre Reed (@Andre_Reed83) April 25, 2025
Reed couldn’t be any more right than saying Hairston is a perfect fit for Buffalo and Bills Mafia. He has great character, is a family-person, and he has high energy. Let’s not forget, he also let Bills fans know that he plans on being the guy that gives the ball back to Josh Allen to work his magic.
This was a great pick for the Bills and the fact that they got someone that they liked late in the first round should give Bills fans confidence moving forward into tonight’s second day, as well as tomorrow’s day three event.
