Last offseason, the Buffalo Bills showed that they were truly all about drafting, developing, and then extending. They got contract extensions done with Greg Rousseau, Christian Benford, Khalil Shakir, Terrel Bernard, and James Cook, which has helped bring stability to the roster moving forward.
Now, the Bills have struck a deal with another player that was drafted by them back in 2023. Erik Turner from Cover 1 had reported that the Bills and right guard O’Cyrus Torrence had agreed “on a mullti-year contract extension”. Then Mike Garafolo from NFL Network reported that the Bills and Torrence had come to an agreement on a four-year deal worth $78.4 million that will include $46 million guaranteed.
According to Garafolo, this deal makes Torrence the 7th-highest paid guard in the NFL. Just a few days ago, the Atlanta Falcons had extended guard Matthew Bergeron to a four-year deal worth $96 million in which he got $60 million guaranteed, per Garafolo. So, despite Bergeron getting the contract extension first, the Bills still managed to get Torrence on a more team-friendly deal even though the market has been rising for offensive guards.

The Bills drafted Torrence in the second round in the 2023 NFL Draft out of the University of Florida, and he immediately became a starter in his rookie season. His pass protection was on an elite level. During training camp of that year, the right guard position came down between Torrence and Ryan Bates, and the Bills definitely made the right decision to pick Torrence to start.
In the past three seasons, Torrence has been part of an offensive line that has helped Josh Allen win the MVP award in 2024, helped James Cook win the rushing title in 2025, and he hasn’t missed a game in his career. Sometimes availability is the best ability that someone can have, that Torrence has been constantly available.
With Josh Allen still in his prime, making sure that he is protected up front is a main priority for the Bills and the Torrence extension is the second example this year.
Continuity in trenches should always be main priority to protect Josh Allen
Prior to the NFL’s legal tampering period opening up back in March, the Bills were able to get an extension done with Connor McGovern. Now with them getting the extension done with Torrence, the offensive line continuity will remain intact beyond the 2026 season. Sure, the left guard position is still up for grabs between Alec Anderson and Austin Corbett, but that will work itself out.
For the last couple of seasons, the Bills have solidified their offensive line which has been one of the better units in the league. Having four of their five starters on the offensive line for the foreseeable future together is a fantastic setup for the Bills.
