After a very short celebration from their Week 11 win over the Buccaneers, the Buffalo Bills are set to kick off their Week 12 matchup against the Houston Texans tonight down in Houston.
While Buffalo is coming off a great win, the Texans have back-to-back division wins and will look to pull off an upset, but they will be doing it without CJ Stroud who has still not cleared concussion protocol, per Adam Schefter. However, the Bills should not take Davis Mills lightly because he has shown that he can do just enough to help Houston pull off a win.
Bills projected to win Week 12 to keep AFC East hopes alive
Sayre Bedinger from NFL Spin Zone has predicted that the Bills will beat the Texans, winning 24-20 which may be closer than fans want, but a win is a win at the end of the day.
"The Texans find themselves right back in the mix at 5-5 after winning three of their last four games, but they’re going to have to buckle down in the red zone. The Texans have the #1 overall defense in the league, but they’re 28th in red zone percentage on that side of the ball. "Sayre Bedinger, NFL Spin Zone
While the Bills are at 7-3 currently, they are still behind the Patriots in the AFC East and are in a position to lose out on the division for the first time in five seasons. Sure, maybe winning the division is not the end goal for the Bills. We can all agree with that. However, it certainly does help Buffalo go on a playoff run.
For as dominant as the Bills have been under Josh Allen and Sean McDermott, they still have yet to win a road playoff game. Isn’t that unbelievable?!
So, from here on out, fans have to consider the fact that if Buffalo loses out on another game or two, they will more than likely be on the road for the playoffs (if they get in) and they haven’t shown that they can be road winners.
Now granted, it’s not the end of the world for the Bills if they don’t win the division. At the same time, it will be quite challenging for them to have to travel and play in a different playoff environment to win. Maybe Week 12 will be the start of the Bills making a comeback within the division, assuming that they win and the Patriots lose against the Bengals.
