When Bills fans wake up on Sunday, the anticipation of making a run at the Super Bowl will begin. With a scheduled 1PM kickoff, the Bills will host the Denver Broncos. This game will be one of the better No. 2 vs. No. 7 seed matchups we have seen in quite sometime.

You have one team that has an MVP candidate who is helping the offense average over 30 points per game. Then you have a team with a solid rookie quarterback and one of, if not the best defense in the league. This game could easily be the game of the weekend in the playoffs.

Each home game, the Bills have a “Legend of the Game” whose job is to get the crowd motivated right before kickoff happens. We have seen players like Jim Kelly, Thurman Thomas, Andre Reed, Terrell Owens, Bruce Smith, and even Marv Levy start the “Hey-ey-ey-ey” chants. However, this Sunday will feature the perfect Bills legend to start the playoffs.

Former DT Kyle Williams is the “Legend of the Game” for Bills’ wild card game

Drafted in the 5th round of the 2006 NFL Draft, Kyle Williams worked his way up as a starter and as one of the all-time fan-favorite players in Buffalo. He became the heart and soul of the Bills during the long stretch of their playoff drought. Despite only playing in one playoff game in his career, Williams was always loyal to the Bills and he was part of some great defensive line units.

Williams finished his career as a Bill with 48.5 sacks and 387 solo tackles. He finished as a six-time Pro Bowler as well as a Second-Team All-Pro player back in 2010. While players came and went throughout the playoff drought, Williams was always a consistent player who went through the bad days to give hope for what the Bills can do now.

He knew how to motivate and knew how to create pressure from the interior of the defensive line. The way he used to get the crowd fired up and help the defense make a big stop was unforgettable.

With the Bills starting a potentially tough playoff journey, there is no better player to get the team and crowd fired up to kickoff the postseason. Buffalo has done typically well in wild card round games in recent memory so hopefully that continues on.
