With the Buffalo Bills having a hot start to the season, they could be in the market to add more talent at the trade deadline. At this point, it's Super Bowl-or-bust for the team, so they have to do whatever they can to make a championship possible, even with Joe Brady just being a rookie head coach.

That doesn't mean the Bills couldn't also consider trading some players away. If there are players who have value but aren't making much of an impact for the team, it doesn't hurt to see if they can get an asset out of it. The Bills' offense has been on a roll, so there could be expendable pieces on the offense.

Joshua Palmer named as possible trade target

The Bills don't have the strongest wide receiver room right now. Tight end Dalton Kincaid leads the team in receiving yards. D.J. Moore was the big offseason addition, but he's already missed two games with an injury.

Khalil Shakir and Keon Coleman have been solid, but the offense could be even better once Moore gets healthy and returns to form. Joshua Palmer has only four catches on the season, but those four catches have gone for 107 yards and two touchdowns. However, once Moore is back in the fold, Palmer likely won't have a big role.

Palmer is a bit pricey for a fourth or fifth wide receiver, but he may have some value on the trade market. The Athletic's Daniel Popper listed all of the top trade candidates in the NFL, and Palmer appeared on the list (subscription may be required).

"Palmer signed a three-year, $29 million deal with the Bills in free agency in 2025," Popper wrote. "He had 22 catches for 308 yards in 12 games last season. This season, he has four catches on 11 targets for 117 yards, 43 of which came on one touchdown reception against the Lions. DJ Moore, whom the Bills traded for this offseason, has been battling a shoulder injury. Still, would the Bills move Palmer to clear more snaps for fourth-round rookie Skyler Bell?" Popper added.

If a team is willing to give up an asset for Palmer, then it would make a lot of sense for the Bills to trade him. Popper named the Las Vegas Raiders, Pittsburgh Steelers and Seattle Seahawks as possible fits for the wide receiver.

The Bills haven't received the best investment from Palmer when they signed him to a three-year deal in 2025. With the emergence of Keon Coleman, along with the rest of the supporting cast, there's pretty much no more room for Palmer.
