The Buffalo Bills will officially be able to hit other players from another team rather than each other as they have their first preseason game this coming Saturday. They will be hosting Dave Canales and the Carolina Panthers, who are coming off a thrilling 33-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals in the Hall of Fame game.
The star of the Panthers ended up being their rookie quarterback in Haynes King, who didn’t just throw for 180 yards and 2 touchdowns, but he also had the game-winning touchdown. However, fans will now have to wait to see him back on the field as Joseph Person from The Athletic reported that King suffered a hamstring injury, and is now considered week-to-week. This means that he most likely won't see the field this Saturday against Buffalo.
Even though the Bills probably won't see the rookie standout, they were given an answer by Panthers head coach Dave Canales on who they will see for a little bit at some point.
Panthers set to play starters for brief time against Bills
Canales spoke with the media and said that the team’s starters will indeed play this week against the Bills, and it could be as much as 10-20 plays, per Dashawn Brown of WSOC-TV.
The Bills should now be expecting to see guys like Bryce Young, Tetairoa McMillan and Chuba Hubbard on offense; and then they should also potentially see guys like Derek Brown, Devin Lloyd and Jaelan Phillips.

Now that we know that the Panthers are planning on playing their starters for a short time, Bills head coach Joe Brady will need to decide on whether or not he will put his starters out on the field this week. You could very well make the argument that he should because Brady needs to make sure that his starters get some playing time at some point before the regular season.
Bills need to match Panthers' formula with playing starters
Sure, you could always make the case on why the starters shouldn’t be starting in the preseason. Injuries are obviously the biggest worst-case scenario and it’s totally fair. At the same time, this is a new era for the Bills and there were a ton of changes that happened this past offseason.
Even if it’s just for one drive, it will still give the Bills a chance to see their starters take the field on both sides of the ball and see how they perform in a limited capacity. The true evaluation will be for the guys that aren’t the starters, but with everything that happened with the Bills in the last few months, seeing the starters on the field is going to be very important.
