The Buffalo Bills got off to an exciting 3-0 start to the 2026 season, but fell back to earth a bit with a Week 4 loss to the New England Patriots. Once again, the defense let the team down. A win in that spot would've given the Bills a big lead in the AFC East, but now the Patriots are lurking.
The schedule doesn't get any easier, as the Bills have to travel to Los Angeles to play the Rams in Week 5 on Monday Night Football. It's going to be one of the biggest games of the early season and should tell us a lot about both teams. We've got some bold predictions ahead of the important clash between Super Bowl contenders.
3 bold predictions for Bills vs. Rams in Week 5
1.) Josh Allen bounces back in a big way
Quarterback Josh Allen looked like the runaway favorite to win MVP again this season after a very hot start, but in the last two games, he's thrown three interceptions and just one touchdown. His struggles were a big reason the Bills lost to the Patriots.
Luckily, the Rams are a team he has had a lot of success against. In three career games, he's thrown 10 touchdowns and rushed for another five. He's averaging five total touchdowns a game against the team. Now, the Rams do have the second-best passing defense in the NFL. They are really hard to throw on.
That said, Allen is due for a big game, and he comes ready to play against the Rams. He'll play a clean game on Monday Night Football and be responsible for at least three total touchdowns.
2.) Bills can't slow down Puka Nacua
The Bills are allowing 256.3 passing yards a game this season, which is sixth-worst in the NFL. In his first game since Week 1, Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua caught nine passes for 125 yards against the Philadelphia Eagles. Even banged up against a good defense, he's impossible to cover.
Nacua is going to be a problem for the Bills. The last time their defense faced an elite wide receiver was Detroit Lions star Amon-Ra St. Brown in Week 2. He had nine catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns. There's a good chance that Nacua puts up a similar stat line against the Bills.
3.) Bills win 35-31 on Monday Night Football
This Monday Night Football matchup has shootout written all over it. Though the Rams' defense has been strong this season, the Bills' offense has been hard to stop. They haven't scored fewer than 24 points in a game all season.
Unfortunately, their defense hasn't been very good. They are currently allowing 26.8 points per game. This game could be a Super Bowl preview, so both coaches are going to be highly motivated to win. However, in the end, the Bills get back on track.
The Rams are just really banged up right now and barely survived the Eagles in Week 4. They haven't been as good as many people thought they'd be before the season. Now, a win over the Bills on Monday Night Football would be a huge statement, but the same goes for the Rams. While it'll come down to the wire, the Bills will get the 35-31 win in primetime.
