The Buffalo Bills were knocked out of the postseason by Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs once again, but they have the personnel needed to give their old foes as much of a headache as possible next year. Nailing it in the 2025 NFL Draft should put this team over the top.
The defensive line is still a bit squishy on the interior, the secondary could use one more star player that can help start immediately, and the wide receiver room is far from complete despite making some strides this season.
Buffalo would be wise to follow the plan of attack laid out in this 2-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft, as they can land multiple players who can compete for Day 1 jobs as a starter, all without having to give up any of their draft capital as they try to move up.
Buffalo Bills 2-round 2025 NFL Mock Draft
Round 1, Pick 30: Kenneth Grant, DT, Michigan
While Oregon's Derrick Harmon has been projected as a player who could end up in Buffalo quite often by mock draft prognosticators, there's a very good chance that one of either Grant or Ole Miss' Walter Nolen ends up sliding down to No. 30 overall. If the Bills want someone who could start right away, Grant could be that guy.
Grant is not only a 330-pound space eater that should be able to provide an immediate boost in run defense, but he has more pass rush upside than most players his size. Grant is a plug-and-play contributor who could be a great scheme fit in Sean McDermott's defense.
Round 2, Pick 56: Dorian Strong, CB, Virginia Tech
Buffalo's secondary hasn't been as lethal as it was in past seasons, and the fact Buffalo has given up on former first-round pick Kaiir Elam suggests that this team could use one of their top picks on a new starter. Strong could be a late riser in this process, as his tape suggests he could be a very stick man coverage corner.
Strong may not be the most physically imposing cornerback in the world due to a light frame that increases tackling concerns, but his ability to disrupt at the line of scrimmage and cover ground could set him up to play a big role in this defense early in his career.
Round 2, Pick 62: Jaylin Noel, WR, Iowa State
While often overshadowed by teammate Jayden Higgins, Noel has also established himself as a player capable of earning a Top 75 pick. Higgins is the bigger body and better downfield threat, but Noel might be the better athlete and superior player when going underneath.
Noel should be able to force his way into Buffalo's base offense as the WR3, all while the recently extended Khalil Shakir and still developing Keon Coleman star on the outside Noel's ability to slice through the defense will make him one of the better Day 2 receivers out there.
