When it comes to the NFL Draft, you can never rule out anything happening when it comes to where players might get drafted and what trades you may see. For the most part, most of the trades that typically happen only involve draft picks.

Just last year, the Bills made two trades where they jumped up in the draft to acquire defensive tackles T.J. Sanders in the second round, and then Deone Walker in the fourth round. In tomorrow’s draft, the Bills are not in a position to make trades that would cause them to lose more than they gain. They only have seven picks, and they currently don’t have a second round pick.

While Buffalo is not in a spot to trade away more than they can gain, other teams are and one of them is the Kansas City Chiefs. Or should I say a team that Buffalo has not been able to get past in the playoffs for many years now. Last season, Kansas City dealt with brutal injuries which included Patrick Mahomes tearing his ACL.

Kansas City not only holds a top ten draft pick, but they traded away Trent McDuffie to the Los Angeles Rams in which they received the 29th overall pick as well. While the Chiefs will be able to use the 9th overall pick on a prospect, John Breech of CBS Sports put together a mock trade that should have Bills concerned that has the Chiefs acquiring tight end Kyle Pitts in exchange for the 29th overall pick.

"On the Chiefs' end, if they were to acquire Pitts, he would serve as the heir apparent to Travis Kelce. The Chiefs' star tight end recently signed on for his 14th season in Kansas City, but at 36, it's hard to see him playing past the 2026 season. If the Chiefs add Pitts, that would give Patrick Mahomes an almost unfair advantage in the passing game." said Breech.

Potential Kyle Pitts-to-Chiefs trade should have Bills fans very nervous

Outside of last season, the Chiefs have been a constant nightmare for the Bills. While Mahomes is still in his prime, Travis Kelce doesn’t have a lot of football left in him. If Kansas City was able to pull off a trade they would land a player like Pitts to take over for Kelce eventually, it would send the NFL into major shock.

We all know that Pitts is extremely talented, he just hasn’t been able to fully show what he can do because Atlanta’s offense has been very inconsistent for many seasons now. Pitts has been able to show greatness from time to time and with him being only 25 years old, he is at the start of his prime.

If all it took was a first rounder that the Chiefs didn’t originally have to acquire Mahomes’ next big target for years to come, that would have fans in shambles.
