After making a bunch of moves this past offseason, the Buffalo Bills could very be on their way to taking care of one of their own offensive linemen. According to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg, it has been reported that there seems to be interest from both the Bills and right guard, O'Cyrus Torrence, in hopes of getting a contract extension taken care of.

Torrence is entering the final year of his rookie contract, and he has been a starter for the Bills the last three seasons. He's been a big reason why Buffalo has able to help Josh Allen win the MVP award in 2024, and help James Cook become one of the best backs in football.

"There has been interest from both sides in keeping the Bills' starting right guard for the past three seasons around for years to come. Unlike last year, when Buffalo addressed a variety of contract extensions in the spring, it prioritized deals impacting this upcoming season. Torrence was present for all of the offseason workouts open to the media and, as far back as January, expressed his understanding of the business side of the league. General manager Brandon Beane has a history of getting extensions done just before or early in the season." said Getzenberg.

Being drafted out of the University of Florida, the Bills were able to solidify the offensive line when they drafted him. Now, if a contract is able to get done, what would it look like?

Bills must prioritize O'Cyrus Torrence extension (but at the right price)

When it comes to protecting Josh Allen, that should never be an issue. Buffalo is one of the few teams in the league that has a true franchise quarterback. Giving him the best protection is always important. At the same time, Buffalo also has to keep in mind that they need an overall roster so obviously, they have to pay other players.

The guard position is one of those spots where it can be easy to replace...until it's not. Torrence is one of the better guards in the league and as long as the price is reasonable, the Bills should not be hesitating to extend him. With the Bills already having competition for the left guard spot, the last thing they need is to have another competition on the right side a year from now.
