So the Bills went from a starting safety duo of Rapp and Cole Bishop to a combination of Bishop, Gardner-Johnson, and Stone heading into this upcoming season. Bringing in a player with the experience of Stone is a plus for Buffalo's defense.

Stone had previously spent time with the Baltimore Ravens, where he carved a role for himself on the defense from the 2021 season all the way through the 2023 season. The 2023 campaign was his most successful, as he recorded 68 total tackles (44 solo, 24 assisted), nine pass breakups, and seven interceptions in 17 games. From there, he signed on with the Bengals on a two-year, $14 million contract.

This past season, Stone recorded 104 tackles (65 solo, 39 assisted), four pass breakups, two interceptions, and two sacks through 17 games. In coverage, Stone allowed 22 receptions for 319 yards and three touchdowns on 31 targets, according to Pro Football Focus (subscription required).

In terms of what he can bring to the Bills, he is a tackler downfield, and can also put pressure on the opposing quarterback when necessary. Stone provides veteran experience in their secondary alongside Gardner-Johnson. We'll see how Leonhard will utilize the both of them this upcoming season.
