There are many things that someone could say about the 2025 Buffalo Bills. Some good, and some definitely not so good. Right now, all that we can say is that they are a resilient team who is one step closer to the Super Bowl after beating the Jaguars in Jacksonville.

It was a close win, but it was a close battle all game long. Neither Jacksonville or Buffalo got out to a huge lead that forced the other to play catch up. The biggest lead by either team was six points.

It didn’t come down to the final play, but it did come down to the final drive by Jacksonville that Buffalo stopped right away when Tre’Davious White tipped Trevor Lawrence’s pass and Cole Bishop came down with the game-winning interception.

This was another Josh Allen masterpiece, where he not only dominated but he did while getting hit a lot. However, you could tell it was another Bills game because of the performance of the run-defense.

Bills' run-defense continues to be huge liability for playoffs

All season long, the Bills have had a huge problem at stopping the run and it continued against the Jaguars. They allowed 154 yards on the ground, allowing 6.7 yards per carry. Travie Etienne rushed for 67 yards and Bhayshul Tuten rushed for 51, and he specifically averaged over 12 yards per carry.

It was very surprising that the Jaguars didn’t run the ball more. They only had 23 total rushes, with six of them being from Trevor Lawrence who mainly just scrambled to get away from pressure. Bills fans should feel extremely lucky that Jacksonville tried to win through the air.

As Buffalo continues on in the playoffs, Sean McDermott and Bobby Babich have to find a different way to stop the run because what they are doing now is clearly not working. The last thing the Bills need is to get sent home from the playoffs because their biggest weakness was never corrected.
