Training camp is underway for the Buffalo Bills up at St. John Fisher University and head coach Sean McDermott kicked off by talking with the media ahead of the first practice. This is the first day where we will get to see and hear news about what’s going on in the field.
One player that fans are eager to see on the field and how he performs is edge rusher Joey Bosa, who the Bills signed this past offseason to a one-year deal worth up to $12.6 million. Having spent nearly a decade with the Chargers, Bosa has become a ferocious pass rusher. However, injuries have caught up with him as that has become apart of his story.
He’s missed a great amount of time the last three seasons, but with joining a new scheme where he will be part of a heavy rotation, the hope is that he can stay healthy and not be a three-down player.
Sean McDermott provides promising update about plan for Joey Bosa
According to Maddy Glab, McDermott told the media that the Bills “have a plan for Joey Bosa as he makes his way back to the field”, which seems to be referring from his calf injury he had ahead of OTAs.

Prior to the start of OTAs, McDermott had announced that Bosa suffered a calf injury that would keep him out until training camp which was frustrating to hear. The fact that Bosa was already popping up on an injury list was extremely hard to hear. Now the hope is that he can stay healthy with this “rep plan” put into place.
With an edge rusher room that has Greg Rousseau, A.J. Epenesa, Michael Hoecht (set to be suspended for six games), Landon Jackson and Javon Solomon, Bosa has the chance to be the tone-setter and bring a spark to Buffalo’s defense. Fans are just hoping that he can stay on the field and not be another Von Miller-like miss of a veteran.
