We approaching the part of the NFL season where we have a better understanding of where each team is in terms of season production. For example, teams like the Cleveland Browns, Las Vegas Raiders, and New England Patriots are more than likely going to be at the bottom of the league by the time Week 18 comes around.
Then you have a team like the Buffalo Bills who have built up momentum at 4-2, coming off a close division win this past Monday night and then trading for WR Amari Cooper from the Cleveland Browns.
Buffalo’s 23-20 win over the Jets bumped New York down to 2-4, in which that loss made the Jets turn around and trade for former Las Vegas Raiders WR Davante Adams. While reuniting Adams with Aaron Rodgers looks great on paper, the Jets still have massive problems that need to be fixed.
Despite the Jets trading for Adams, there are still heavy doubts for New York. One of those doubters is Brad Gagnon from Bleacher Report who gave a list of hot takes after the first six games.
Gagnon included the idea of Aaron Rodgers giving up on the Jets, despite the recent trade for Davante Adams:
"The Davante Adams experiment likely won't save a team that is 2-4, or a 40-year-old quarterback who is currently the league's sixth-lowest rated passer and hasn't been elite since 2021.Brad Gagnon, Bleacher Report
The pressure will mount, Aaron Rodgers will become more frustrated and a man who already appeared to lack commitment before it all hit the fan will likely find a way to escape."
Aaron Rodgers quitting on the Jets would put Bills fans in a fantastic mood
As it stands, it looks like the Jets are the biggest competition for the Bills for the AFC East. However, with the Bills already defeating the Jets on their home turf, Buffalo is already at an advantage.
The Miami Dolphins are riddled with injuries and the New England Patriots are more focused on the development of rookie quarterback Drake Maye. That just leaves the Jets to worry about for the Bills. If Rodgers starts to slowly quit on New York and ruin the team chemistry, the Bills will be on their way to their fifth consecutive division title.
