The Buffalo Bills were an active team during the first wave of the free agency frenzy and it was an exciting time for Bills fans. They brought in players like Joshua Palmer and Joey Bosa to help upgrade their roster. However, general manager Brandon Beane made a little bit of a mistake when it was announced that two free agent signings; Michael Hoecht and Larry Ogunjobi would be suspended for six games due to violating the league’s PED policy.

Things have kind of slowed down for the Bills, with their last free agent signing being wide receiver Laviska Shenault. Things can pick up for the Bills at any time but the main focus is now slowly turning towards the NFL Draft.

There are plenty of Bills free agents still looking for a new team

Even though free agency has slowed down, there are still plenty of free agents from the Bills that have yet to be signed, and here is the list of those players:

Players

WR Amari Cooper

CB Rasul Douglas

DT Austin Johnson

DE Dawaune Smoot

DL Quinton Jefferson

DL Jordan Phillips

TE Quintin Morris

The most notable names on this list are Amari Cooper and Rasul Douglas, who were starters last season for the Bills. Cooper was brought to Buffalo via trade from the Cleveland Browns in the middle of last season and Douglas was traded to Buffalo in the middle of the 2023 season.

Between them two, it would make more sense for the Bills to bring back Douglas considering the fact they have a desperate need to bring in cornerback help. Not to mention, the Bills signed wide receiver Joshua Palmer to a three-year deal so he can replace Cooper’s presence.

It would not be surprising at all to see the Bills bring back someone like Jordan Phillips because of the suspensions with Hoecht and Ogunjobi. Buffalo needs depth and Phillips always tends to play his best when he is in Buffalo. Bringing him back on a simple one-year deal as depth would be an ideal move.

Tight end Quintin Morris recently visited the Detroit Lions on a free agent visit, per Jordan Schultz, but there hasn’t been any developments of him agreeing on a deal.

Then with Dawaune Smoot, Quinton Jefferson, and Austin Johnson, it would be a move that Buffalo could potentially make going into training camp if they remain unsigned. The Bills can still make depth signings but there is no rush for now.

The biggest names to watch out for are obviously Amari Cooper and Rasul Douglas because they are still quality starters in this league. Even though it would make sense to let Cooper walk, it would make a lot more sense to bring back Douglas somehow, someway.
