The Buffalo Bills are geared up and excited as they continue to look ahead to the 2026 NFL regular season. With the team beginning its first training camp under new head coach Joe Brady, it gives players who may not have been performing to their standards a fresh beginning at a first impression.

Hopefully, their new revamped wide receiving corps and the rise of a young safety will continue to make their mark and show the country that they will be bona fide NFL stars. Let's not forget about a tight end looking to put two seasons of injury and pain behind him to perform on the big stage in a contract year.

5 undervalued Bills worth taking a closer look at as 2026 season inches closer

1.) RT Spencer Brown

Since being drafted in 2021, Brown has been one of those quiet players who let his play do the talking on the field. At 6-foot-8, 311 pounds, Brown is a tough athlete who is disciplined and plays to the whistle on almost every play.

He's the prototypical NFL offensive lineman who rarely lets anyone come his way. Brown's also not really talked about as one of the NFL's best right tackles, and has always earned every opportunity thrown his way.

2.) C Connor McGovern

Much like Brown, McGovern is probably one of the game's best centers without earning any publicity. The 6-foot-6, 318-pound center plays the position like a player on a mission, as it's a position that is very important, but rarely has its name called.

McGovern's latest 4-year, $52 million contract shows his dedication and desire to remain with the team. He continues to focus on improving every day as the team begins play at their new Highmark Stadium.

3.) TE Dalton Kincaid

Since the Bills drafted Kincaid in 2023, he has been their most consistent pass-catching tight end since Pete Metzelaars and Jay Riemersma back in the 1990s dynasty. With all the catches the 6-foot-3, 246-pound athlete has made, he has struggled with knee injuries, which may have been caused by not being physical enough to sustain the big hits of the NFL.

With more offseason training and additional blocking experience in 12- and 13-personnel sets, his improved strength will allow him to stay on the field longer in big games.

4.) WR Khalil Shakir

Shakir's outstanding performance last season shows how much he contributed to the Bills and that he became Josh Allen's favorite target among the receivers they used. The 6-foot, 190-pound receiver led the Bills with 719 receiving yards, definitely making a difference in Brady's screen-heavy offense.

He continues to improve each year, whether playing on the outside or on the inside in the quick-screen game. Now, he should pair with fourth-round rookie Skyler Bell, who plays a similar game, which should intensify the team dynamic and make Brady smile as head coach this year.

5.) S Cole Bishop

Bishop is another player who really earned his flowers last year for how he transformed into a prominent young starter at safety. The 6-foot-2, 206-pound thumper played with a chip on his shoulder last year, in the second year of his rookie contract.

His biggest moment came when he made the game-winning interception in the 2025 AFC Wildcard round vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars in the remaining seconds of the game. Look for him to build on that game and use it as motivation to create more turnovers in Jim Leonhard's aggressive 3-4 multiple defense this season.
