3 players the Buffalo Bills could trade for at the trade deadline

However, the Bills still have more moves to make and more positions to upgrade, whether adding a starter or depth, possibly including another wide receiver addition.

The NFL trade deadline is a mere three weeks away, and we’ve already seen the Buffalo Bills make a huge upgrade to their roster. The Bills acquired Amari Cooper via trade with the Cleveland Browns, giving Buffalo a huge boost to their wide receiver room. The Bills still have more moves to make and more positions to upgrade, whether adding a starter or depth, possibly including another wide receiver addition.

Fox Sports reporter Jordan Schultz mentioned linebacker and safety as two positions the Bills could trade for next. As we draw closer to the deadline, more players are rumored to be available, so let’s take a look at three more names the Bills could target.

New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt

There’s no question the Bills need more speed at receiver. Losing Deonte Harty, Gabe Davis, and Stefon Diggs in the off-season was a big blow to that area of the passing game. And the Bills choosing to move away from a fast group of receivers and move more toward tall jump ball pass catchers didn’t help either. Now they can fix that with Hyatt.

The speedy Hyatt fell down the Giants depth chart seemingly for no reason. Despite injuries to the position this year, he’s only totaled one reception for six yards on seven targets. Hyatt, only 23 years old, has two more years left on his contract with base salaries of $1.2M and $1.5M, per Spotrac. A very affordable contract that fits a need for Josh Allen and the offense.

Jacksonville Jaguars Safety Andre Cisco

The Bills made a good amount of moves at the safety position as they try to replace Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde. Adding Mike Edwards, Kareem Jackson (now on the practice squad), and Cole Bishop in the draft. Nothing has seemed to work, as the Bills haven’t seen production out of the four safeties they roster. Cisco likely takes Mike Edwards’ roster spot as the Bills have only made him active for three games this season. A clean start with a younger Cisco, only 24, is the wise decision as the Bills go with a youth movement.

After the Jaguars' latest loss in London, Cisco told reporters “How should I say this, a lot of quit,” via Action News Jax. Starting the season with a 1-5 record and last in the division, the Jaguars could decide between now and the deadline to tear their roster down if they keep losing. That includes their fourth-year safety.

Jacksonville Jaguars Linebacker Chad Muma

Staying in Jacksonville, the 25-year-old Muma could receive trade calls as well if the Jaguars don’t start winning. Muma has recorded 27 tackles and has made one start this season. He’s one of several early-round linebackers who could be on the trade block this season, including Washington Commander Jamin Davis. The Bills will seem to be able to get their pick of depth linebackers if they decide that’s a position of need.

The Bills attempted to add depth to the position even before Matt Milano’s injury. Now, their depth is being tested. Rookie Edefuan Ulofoshio has yet to be active in a regular season game, and veteran Nicholas Morrow has been strictly a special teamer. The Bills need to find a way to add more quality depth to the position.
