At 5-1, the Buffalo Bills are tied for the best record in the AFC. Getting the No. 1 seed would go a long way toward helping the team win a Super Bowl.
The Bills are coming off their bye week and are set to play a tough Baltimore Ravens team. The Ravens are 4-3, so they aren't a huge threat to get the No. 1 seed right now, but a win in this spot would effectively crush their chances.
While the Bills are clearly one of the best teams in the NFL, they have some issues the Ravens can exploit. We're going to break down the biggest concerns for the Bills heading into Week 8.
Bills fans should have 3 concerns heading into AFC showdown against Ravens
Return of Lamar Jackson
It's been a weird start to the season for Lamar Jackson. The Ravens are 3-1 when he plays, but he's missed the last three games with an injury. He was expected to play in Week 7, but had to back out.
He could have fresh legs heading into the Bills matchup. Historically, Jackson is 3-2 against the Bills in the regular season. Even with the ankle injury, he's still one of the most dangerous quarterbacks in the NFL. There's no doubt Buffalo would rather be playing Tyler Huntley.
The Bills appear to be the better team, but with Jackson expected to play, it'll be a very tough matchup.
Bills missing starting safety
The Ravens defense has just been average this season, so they may have a very difficult time slowing down the Bills' offense, but they're still better than what Buffalo has put on the field. The Bills are allowing 28.5 points a game right now, which is the third most in the NFL.
To make matters worse, starting safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson won't be playing after getting suspended for spitting at another player during the game against the Las Vegas Raiders. The Bills' secondary was already suspect, but not having Gardner-Johnson only hurts them. Jackson may not be able to run as effectively coming off of an injury, but he should be able to exploit the Bills in the passing game.
Derrick Henry has historically dominated Bills
The Bills' run defense has been better than the pass defense this season, but the Ravens' rushing offense is very dynamic. Derrick Henry has owned the Bills over his career. In seven career games, he's averaged 103.9 yards per game and 5.82 yards per carry.
Henry is coming off back-to-back weak performances, so he's due for a big game. He has to be licking his chops thinking about running against this Bills defense.
