The Buffalo Bills got some much-needed rest after a 5-1 start to the season. It's a pretty early bye week for the team, and they get a tough matchup right out of the gate.
It has been a tough year for the Baltimore Ravens. They are 4-3 right now with back-to-back losses to the Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals. However, those games were played without star quarterback Lamar Jackson. The two-time MVP is expected to be back for the Bills game, and the Ravens are desperate for a win. It's going to be one of the must-watch matchups of Week 8.
3 predictions for Bills vs. Ravens epic clash
Tre'Davious White makes impact in Bills return
The Bills' pass defense has been atrocious this season. The front office has still avoided making any big trades, but they did sign one notable player ahead of the bye week. Two-time All-Pro cornerback Tre'Davious White. He spent seven years in Buffalo before playing for the Rams and Ravens in 2024, and then eventually returning to the Bills in 2025.
He came back to the Bills last season, but they decided against re-signing him in free agency. With the season off to a rough start for the defense, they signed White back to the practice squad. There's no guarantee he's going to play against the Ravens, but it'd be a surprise if he didn't. In fact, there's a real chance he gets a good amount of snaps. If that happens. he could be an upgrade over what the team has had. At the very least, his veteran leadership will be appreciated.
Bills contain banged up Lamar Jackson
The Ravens are clearly a different team when Jackson is healthy. They are 3-1 in games that he has started this season. Granted, those wins came against the lowly Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys and Tennessee Titans. The one loss came against a bad New Orleans Saints team.
The Bills will be the first real contender Jackson has faced this season. He's such a talented player that he's difficult to fully slow down, but Buffalo should do enough to contain him. He has played really well against the Bills in the past, but for this matchup, he's going to do anything special.
Bills have lowest-scoring game of season, but still win
The Bills' offense has been almost impossible for defenses to stop. Josh Allen continues to play at a high level, and James Cook could be in for a career year. However, they can't score 30 or more points every game.
The Ravens' defense has been average this season, but they still have talent, and head coach Jesse Minter is a strong defensive mind. The Bills are due for a dud on offense, but that doesn't mean they have to lose. Though the Ravens' defense slows the Bills' offense down, Buffalo will still pull off the 20-17 win.
