Ed Oliver has been electric for the Buffalo Bills this season, but his latest injury may force him to miss some time. After leaving the field midgame against the Carolina Panthers, he was diagnosed with a bicep injury and spotted wearing a sling on his arm, per Cameron Wolfe.

Be it a week or two, or the season, anxiety is in the air. The Bills are in specific need, with DTs DaQuan Jones and TJ Sanders both missing time already. Fresh off his suspension, Larry Ogunjobi stepped in to help, but it isn't enough. The NFL trade deadline isn't until November 4th, and there are options out there.

Potential DT options for Bills to trade for

Jeffery Simmons - Tennessee Titans

There are few players as proficient in the art of moving people as Jeffery Simmons. Tragically for Simmons, there are no franchises as proficient at losing football games as the Tennessee Titans. As he crawls through another lost season at the age of 28, he sees the prime of his career being washed away. Wouldn't it be nice to be a contender?

To play football at the level which your skills command? A trade to the Buffalo Bills would accomplish that. The three-time pro bowler and two-time Second-Team All-Pro is one of the few powerhouse DTs available today.

Jeffery Simmons is one of the league's premier defensive tackles, and he's paid like it. A foundational piece for the Titans' defensive line, they would love to keep him. Alas, they're 1-6 with no signs of improving. By the time they've figured out their QB situation, it may be too late.

This week, they could actually get what Simmons is worth. He's owed a little over $50m over the next two seasons, but has an out built into his contract for the upcoming offseason. Buffalo could choose to keep or cut him based on roster build in 2026.

Projected Cost: 1st + 5th Round picks

Cameron Jordan - New Orleans Saints

Cameron Jordan is playing for the 1-6 New Orleans Saints on a contract renegotiation, making him a free agent after this season. The Saints will be paying him for a few years to come, but not a team that assumes the contract. If the Bills need a stop-gap to fill some space this season with high-level veteran play, look no further. Cam Jordan is 36, in the twilight of his career, but still highly effective. He sacked Josh Allen only a few short weeks ago.

As far as a deal goes, the Buffalo Bills would be assuming only the remainder of this season's salary for Jordan. He would be owed under $700k though the Super Bowl. The Saints would be happy to get something out of him before he ends his his 15-year stint on the roster. Jordan is not a premium free agent, but has plenty to offer for the rest of 2025. Trading for him may be the wisest move available, which doesn't harm 2026 or beyond.

Projected Cost: 4th Round pick

Shelby Harris - Cleveland Browns

The Buffalo Bills have options at DT, but they're not all your dream starters. If the prognosis for Ed Oliver's injury isn't as severe as it could be, the team may opt for a more sensible option.

Shelby Harris is a good player on an expensive and disastrous team. His role is similar to that of the injured Oliver and he can slide into the rotation if the starter returns. He's inexpensive, owed under $1.5m in this final season of his contract. If the Bills are in the market for measured moves, this is amongst them.

The Cleveland Browns are only 2-6, well on their way to a premium draft pick, but they need more to escape the salary cap hell they've dived into. Shedding Harris is as much a short-term money boost as it is a draft investment. They should decide quickly, and take the first step to actually repairing this sunken ship.

Projected Cost: 6th Round pick
