When it comes to the AFC East, the Buffalo Bills were in control of it from 2020-2024 once Tom Brady left the division. It seemed like during that span, the Bills were always pinned as the favorites to win it. It was the same thing going into last season, but the New England Patriots, who had one of the easiest schedules that a team has ever had, won it with a 14-3 record.

Even with Josh Allen under center, the Bills couldn’t do enough to win their sixth consecutive division title and they were forced to go on the road in the playoffs. Moving forward, the Bills and the Patriots should be competing against each other for the top spot in the playoffs.

As for the other teams in the division, that doesn’t look to be the case anytime soon. Both the New York Jets and Miami Dolphins have been in dysfunction for many years now for various reasons, but atleast the Dolphins have had some kind of regular season success (even though it didn’t matter once November/December came around).

When it comes to the Jets, they have been one of the worst organizations who always seem to find themselves making the wrong decisions. No matter who they have as their head coach, what players they have on the roster, things just always fall apart.

Going into the 2026 season, the Jets have somewhat more stability as far as the roster. There’s no doubt that they had a great draft and some of their rookies could contribute sooner than later. At the same time, Gary Davenport from Bleacher Report made a prediction about the Jets that has things going from bad to worse for the Jets, leaving Bills Mafia is uncontrollable laughter.

2026 prediction gives Bills fans another reason to laugh at Jets

Davenport put together a piece predicting some major surprises for the 2026 season, and one of the predictions that Davenport has is the Jets being the first 0-17 team in NFL history. Since the league expanded to 17 games, there has yet to be a winless team.

"An offense that finished last season 29th in both yards per game and points per game will be led in 2026 by journeyman Geno Smith, who struggled badly in Las Vegas. A defense that allowed more points than any team in the AFC also has significant questions at all three levels." said Davenport.

"New York was the last team in the league to secure a win last year, losing seven straight before getting past the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 8. This year, the Jets won't only be the last team to win a game. They won't—becoming the NFL's first-ever 0-17 team in the process." Davenport added.

Since the 2016 season, the Jets haven’t won more than seven games in a season and haven’t been higher than third place. In that time span, the Jets have an overall record of 49-116. Yikes, that is terrible.

Even though the Jets arguably have a better roster than the Dolphins on paper, the Dolphins atleast have a bit more promise from their new regime with Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley. This regime of Darren Mougey and Aaron Glenn has already failed miserably, but they will get atleast one more season in New York to make things right. However, the Jets just simply aren’t ready to compete in the division, let alone in the league.

If the Jets, who have already shown that they have been in a rebuild, find a way to go winless the entire 2026 season, it would just give Bills fans another reason to keep laughing at them.
