The biggest hole on the roster presently is middle linebacker for the Buffalo Bills. This doesn’t necessarily mean the front office will address it in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft but if they were then Drew Sanders would be the likely linebacker they select.

Jack Campbell out of Iowa is the most complete and NFL-ready middle linebacker but the upside of Drew Sanders is what would be the most appealing for the Buffalo Bills. Sanders only has one season as a starter after he transferred to Arkansas from Alabama and finished with 103 total tackles, 9.5 sacks, and 13.5 tackles for a loss.

Sanders still is learning the position but his ability to get to the quarterback is something that stands out. Now that Sean McDermott is calling the defense, they are expected to be more aggressive and McDermott could maximize this part of Drew Sanders’ game.

The Buffalo Bills have shown they are not afraid to go after the boom or bust players, like Josh Allen in 2018, and the upside of Drew Sanders combined with their trust in their coaching staff could make him the pick in the first round.
