Buffalo Bills have a chance to draft Bijan Robinson but pass

One of the more fascinating storylines entering the 2023 NFL Draft is where does Bijan Robinson go and how early is he drafted? The former Texas running back is one of the best prospects at the position to come out of college for a very long time and he has a chance to make an immediate impact in the NFL as a rookie.

However, the running back position doesn’t have the importance it used to and teams are not addressing it early as they have found production in the later rounds. If there is a running back that can break this trend, it would be Bijan Robinson.

While there are teams that could take a chance at drafting him, like the Philadelphia Eagles, Seattle Seahawks, and Dallas Cowboys to name a few, I think teams will wait to address the running back position.

This means that the Buffalo Bills will have a chance to draft Bijan Robinson when it is their turn at pick 27. The Bills have not had a star running back in a long time and Jim Kelly recently said he believes this is what the team needs to get to help Josh Allen.

However, as mentioned previously the league has shifted drastically and the Bills offense is not constructed in a way that Bijan Robinson would significantly change the offense. This is Josh Allen’s offense and they are going to lean on his arm and throw the ball.

In addition, the Buffalo Bills used a second round pick on James Cook last year and since 2019 used three picks in the first three rounds on running back (Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, James Cook). There are other needs and running back is not the position they address in the first round, regardless of the talent that is Bijan Robinson.
