Leading up to the 2023 NFL Draft, the Buffalo Bills still have a lot of unanswered questions. In short, there are still moves to make.

This is a team which saw many of their own names enter free agency and sign with other teams; some still waiting on their new gig.

With a roster so top-heavy in terms of taking up the salary cap, general manager Brandon Beane knew this offseason wasn’t going to be easy. He had to find a way to re-work some deals, getting under the cap, and also finding a way to bring back a couple of key players.

Still, there are some guys who need replacing. Some of them have already seen a so-called replacement come in, but could Buffalo give them competition and truly try and find the best-possible replacement?

Five particular players are no longer on the roster, and Buffalo could opt to replace them in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Buffalo signed Kyle Allen to come in and be the backup to Josh Allen, but the team should really go after developing their own backup to maintain some continuity. The nice thing about drafting a backup quarterback is that it doesn’t have to come early.

Looking late in the draft, there might be no better candidate than Heisman finalist and National Champion, Stetson Bennett, out of Georgia. He’s great at reading the field and throwing into tight windows, but he’s a little small at 5-foot-11.

Another intriguing option, if the Bills wanted a more mobile quarterback, is UCLA’s Dorian Thompson-Robinson. He’s a 6-foot-2, 203-pound senior with plenty of experience.

Lastly, one intriguing option who may go undrafted is TCU’s Max Duggan, who showed some redeeming qualities last season in a big season for the Horned Frogs.
