Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. EDGE. 3. Missouri. Isaiah McGuire. player. 822

Recently, we wrote about how the Bills should be concerned with Von Miller’s injury. The veteran pass rusher could be out a while, still, and no one truly knows where his timeline is at. In his place, Gregory Rousseau did an admirable job last season, and played as well as he could have without a lot of consistent help around him.

The rest of the guys coming off the edge, though, didn’t quite step up how they should have. For that reason, the Bills have to get another body in this room, and ideally within the first three rounds.

Missouri pass rusher Isaiah McGuire is the pick here, and he’ll come in to become a solid part of the rotation right away, assisting in picking up the slack from Miller’s absence.

McGuire is 6-foot-4, nearly 270 pounds and packs a punch. He’s more of a power rusher than anything else, so he won’t offer the Bills one of those quicker, more agile types. Still, his bull rush and all-out power are reason to like his tape.

Another aspect of his game to like is the motor he plays with. McGuire doesn’t stop, even when the play is behind him. He’ll rush to help stop a run before it breaks off for a house call, and he will play until the whistle blows.
