Leonard Fournette

Another running back who was released this week was Leonard Fournette, who played with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the past three seasons. He is another physical running back that could fill the need the Buffalo Bills have at the position at 6’0″ and 228 pounds.

However, he hasn’t been as productive as Elliott with only 1,847 rushing yards during the regular season with the Bucs and 17 rushing touchdowns. This past season he also saw his yards per rushing attempt drop significantly from 4.5 in 2021 to 3.5 in 2022.

The decrease may not be an indication of Fournette slowing down as the Bucs offensive line was forced to deal with a number of injuries and the group struggled as a whole. The Buffalo Bills though don’t have a great offensive line, especially blocking for the run game, and this may make the team look elsewhere but among the running backs still available, Leonard Fournette makes sense on some level.
