Trade  Number 2

This second deal is one that some fans might not necessarily love. Last year, the Bills drafted cornerback Kaiir Elam out of Florida with their first-round pick. The thought was that Elam could be paired with Tre’Davious White in forming a one-two punch at corner, giving the Bills a lethal duo.

Elam was also supposed to help lessen the pain of White being out due to injury to start the year. However, the rookie had an up-and-down season and didn’t quite look the part at times. Meanwhile, the Vikings continue to need help on defense.

Minnesota just signed prized free agent cornerback Byron Murphy, but lost Patrick Peterson to free agency it appears. Adding another corner should be priority, and in this instance they get Elam from the Bills along with a sixth rounder.

Buffalo, meanwhile, gets Cook and a fourth-round pick. You might ask why the Bills also get a higher draft pick along with the better player, and that’s simply due to the fact that Elam’s draft stock was so high and his potential should continue to be there going into his second season.
