The 2023 edition of NFL free agency is set to kick off this week, as teams can verbally agree to terms as of Monday, mid-morning. The Buffalo Bills have some work to do in-house, but should also be looking at other transactions to improve the roster such as a trade.

This offseason, a number of names will be on the move.

We have already seen All Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey get moved prior to this week’s madness, with plenty of other names on the horizon to be traded.

While the Bills certainly have to make it under the cap, somehow, they should also explore improving their team by trading for one of the following three veterans.

Trade Number 1: The Buffalo Bills make a deal for wide receiver Mike Evans

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are headed for a retool, and in order to get under the cap, they will likely part with another veteran. One such name could be wide receiver Mike Evans, who saw his touchdown production dip just a bit last year due to some type of misconnection between he and Tom Brady.

Evans is still one of the best, most consistent receivers in the game today, never failing to reach 1,000 receiving yards in nine seasons as a pro.

Taking some pressure off of Stefon Diggs should be a priority for the Bills, this offseason, and Evans would absolutely do that. Giving the Bills a pair of All Pro, Pro Bowl-type wideouts on the outside for Josh Allen would do wonders for the offense.

Would the Bills somehow be able to absorb Evans’ $23.6 million cap hit in 2023? That’s the big question. Brandon Beane better get busy with some restructures, as we speak.
