4 ripple effects of the Buffalo Bills signing Jamaal Williams: Devin Singletary will not return

The most obvious ripple effect is that this would guarantee that Devin Singletary’s time in Buffalo will come to an end. Singletary was a third round pick by the Buffalo Bills in 2019 and while he has always shared the backfield, he has been the team’s primary running back during his time in Western New York.

He would lead the team in rushing attempts in three of the past four seasons and in total ran for 3,151 rushing yards with 16 rushing touchdowns. Singletary also made an impact in the passing game with 38 or more receptions on 50 or more targets in the past three seasons.

During Devin Singletary’s time with the Buffalo Bills the run game was always a point of discussion as it was inconsistent and at times ineffective. It remains to be seen if this is the fault of Singletary or if it was the blocking up front and the play-calling.

It will be worth watching what success, or lack thereof, Devin Singletary would have with his next team in 2023 and that could determine the answer to the debate.
