The Buffalo Bills could use a physical running back to pair with James Cook and Leonard Fournette could be a great option to complement the second-year running back. Fournette has been the primary running back for the past three seasons for the Bucs but asked for his release this offseason which it appears the team will honor the request.

Fournette was a first round pick by the Jacksonville Jaguars but was released prior to the 2020 season. He would quickly join the Bucs and over the past three seasons has had 466 rushing attempts, 1,847 rushing yards, and 17 rushing attempts. Fournette also was a big part of their Super Bowl run in 2021 with 300 rushing yards and four rushing touchdowns in four games.

While he didn’t develop into that game-breaking running back, Fournette has shown he can be an effective short-yardage and goal line back. This would be a great fit for the Buffalo Bills but he does have enough versatility that will keep defenses honest with an average of over 60 receptions per season the past three years.
