Which players who are expected to be released should the Buffalo Bills look to sign?

With free agency right around the corner, NFL teams are looking to get their salary cap in order and could be releasing veterans over the next few days. These are players that are typically older but could be good fits for the Buffalo Bills if they sign them to short-term deals.

One example of a move like this was last season with the Bills signing Rodger Saffold after he was released by the Tennessee Titans. He had an up-and-down season but he was the starter every game for the Bills at guard.

There are a number of veterans that either have been released or are expected to be released that could address major needs for the Buffalo Bills.

One of the more interesting positions to watch this offseason is offensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills because there is a wide range of possibilities. The Bills currently have Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown returning, the two starters from last year, as well as Tommy Doyle returning from a season-ending knee injury.

However, Brown didn’t take a big step forward in Year 2 and the Buffalo Bills could look for a potential replacement at right tackle or just a veteran to back up the position. One potential fit could be Taylor Lewan, who was released by the Tennessee Titans.

The biggest question for Lewan is whether or not he wants to continue his career as he has hinted at possibly retiring. While Lewan has stated he wants to return to Tennessee, if that isn’t a possibility then a team like Buffalo could make sense where he could compete for a starting job but at worst would be a valuable backup at a key position.
