Nolan Smith

The Buffalo Bills had met with Nolan Smith at the NFL Combine but after his workout it seems unlikely that he will still be available when the team is on the clock in the first round. As Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus tweeted, he finished in the 95th percentile or higher in the 40-yard dash, vertical and broad jump.

Nolan Smith was a key part of the Georgia Bulldogs defense the past two seasons but last year his season was cut short after suffering a torn pec. While the focus for EDGE players is getting after the quarterback, this is something Smith didn’t show much with the Bulldogs.

However, with the athleticism he demonstrated at the NFL Combine, he can certainly develop into a good pass rusher. In the meantime, he will be a player that can contribute as a rookie by setting the edge and stopping the run.
