This offseason could be a little tricky for the Buffalo Bills, who are strapped for cash and have some big name free agents they need to work on bringing back.
But, general manager Brandon Beane is ready to get creative, go to work and ensure his team can make a Super Bowl run in 2024.
One of the team’s key free agents going into the free agency period is running back Devin Singletary, who is coming off his rookie deal and unfortunately plays a position which rarely gets paid.
The Bills likely won’t bring him back, but at the same time need a serious upgrade at the position. If they opted to go the free agency route, and Beane was able to create some magical cap space, there are three particular veterans who are entering free agency, would be a great fit and happen to be highly underrated.
The Buffalo Bills could replace Devin Singletary with Jamaal Williams
He might have led the league in rushing touchdowns last year with 17, but somehow Jamaal Williams remains criminally underrated. The 27-year-old veteran would be a phenomenal fit as the early down back in Buffalo, along with taking the clear-cut advantage in goal line situations.
Somehow, Spotrac has his market value pinned at $4.1 million in annual salary. He’s coming off a two-year, $6 million deal with Detroit and had the best season of his career.
If the Bills could get him for a one-year deal at $4-$5 million, he would be a welcomed addition next to James Cook.
