Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns were another team that had a number of issues at linebacker last season but this was due in large part to injuries. Over the course of the season, the Browns would have four linebackers end up on injured reserve beginning with Anthony Walker, followed by Jacob Phillips, Sione Takitaki, and Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

The Browns would try to address the position mid-season by trading for former Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones. He would start five games and finish with 44 total tackles but he never really made the impact he did while with the Atlanta Falcons.

Now with Jones, Walker, and Takitaki set to be free agents this offseason, the Browns could look to add a long-term answer like Tremaine Edmunds. One concern for the Browns, considering what they had last year, is Edmunds’ injury history as he has played only one full season in the NFL and this past season missed three games.

However, if the Cleveland Browns are confident this won’t be an issue Tremaine Edmunds could be a great linebacker for the middle of this defense.
